MEETINGS ARE HELD
ON THE SECOND THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 7PM
Our Mission
Tampa Realistic Artists was formed in 1956, by people dedicated to
furthering the ideals and principals of fine art, providing services to artists
and the community to establish and maintain a permanent Art Gallery in the
interest of “Art to Live With”, and to offer art education through exhibitions,
seminars, lectures, demonstrations, workshops, etc. for cultural enlightenment
in the community. Through our services and education and outreach activities,
our objective is to serve artists and to increase the public’s awareness of art.

History of Tampa Realistic
Artists and Old Hyde Park Art Center
Old Hyde Park Art Center is located in the original
Hyde Park Grammar School.
The Art Center is owned and operated by artists in and around the city of Tampa,
Florida. The group organized in 1956 and has occupied their current location
since 1968.
The Center is operated as a gallery and art school. Most days there are classes,
meetings or workshops being held in the old frame building. Monthly-juried shows
are held for members and several times a year the juried shows are open to the
general public.
Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 7pm. After a short
business meeting they host a different local artist who is willing to share
their art and talent with the group.
The gallery and studio are kept open by volunteers Tuesday - Sunday from 12-3pm.
All the art work displayed in the gallery is for sale and visitors are
encouraged.
