In 1985, Terri graduated from YSU with her BFA, the same year her daughter graduated from KSU. She began her career as a commission artist while still in college. She is commissioned to paint portraits, historic buildings, and sometimes a combination of the two—a portrait using local or historical backgrounds. Aside from portraits and house portraits, she also paints antique cars, landscapes and florals.

“I love the luminosity of watercolor. I love to see colors mingle on the paper itself,” she says. Terri primarily works in watercolor, but also oils, and pastels.

Terri has exhibited widely and is a member of Tuesday Painters (which includes members, Mary Kay D’Isa and Cathy Milligan, as well as Lotte Herwig Erhardt). This group paints every Tuesday, and, on occasion, exhibits together. “It’s nice,” Terri says, “because we can critique each other's work.”

Among other affiliations, she was past president of Mahoning Valley Watercolor Society, is an associate member of the Ohio Watercolor Society, and treasurer of the Docent Alumni of Butler Institute of American Art.

Originally from New Springfield, she lives in Girard with her husband Jack (also a TAA member). She plans to continue doing commissions and is constantly working to improve and to “paint looser.
