Artist Trading Cards

Strathmore Artist Papers is hosting a global artist trading card swap, where every participant is a winner and receives an original artist trading card. Go to www.strathmoreartist.com for entry form and samples. Create your own holiday or winter-themed card. Artist Trading Cards and entry material must be postmarked by Nov. 26. The only official rule is the trading card size must be 2.5”x3.5”. If you don’t think you have enough time to enter this year’s Strathmore event, consider the idea of organizing a local “swap” event.

Hanging Opportunity

The Main Street Theater and Encore Café, 5. N. Main St. in Columbiana, is looking for local artists to display their work in the café and adjacent theater lobby. Artwork will be on display for one month, during which the theater will host a “Meet the Artist” night at the café. Call Laura or Tammy at 330-484-9647.

Art Display/Sales Opportunity

The Southern Park Mall is hosting a charity wine taste event on December 7, 7-10 pm. Proceeds will benefit Miracles Unlimited, Inc. The event planner, Deb Grim, is seeking area artists to display and sell their work that evening. Although there is no fee, she suggests a 15% commission on works be donated to the charity. If you are interested in showing/selling your work, call Deb at 330-792-7620 or email dgrim@zoominternet.net . This is an excellent opportunity to showcase the diverse talent in our community. Whatever your medium, this is a great chance to promote your art. Prints are often better sellers than original pieces because of the price factor. However, you are encouraged to show your original work as well. If you would like to attend the event as a guest rather than an artist, tickets are $55/person.
