Member News— Arden Gallery on Newbury St. in Boston is handling the artwork of Tom McNickle’s (Volant, PA) now. They will have a show of his oils on Friday, Mar. 7. Chris Leeper (Canfield) got a painting (Road Less Traveled – oil on canvas) in the 2008 Salon International Exhibition at the Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art, San Antonio, TX Elizabeth Babb’s (Salem) work is currently on display in The Danklef Hill Gallery on the 2nd floor of the Friends Roastery, 474 E. State St. in Salem. Several TAA members won awards at the Youngstown YWCA’s “Women Artists” show at The Butler in Howland. They include: Gail Trunick (Burghill) Women’s Art Committee Award for “Ding-A-Ling DNA” - Clay & found objects She also won an award for “Tea for Me and Tea for You” -mixed media (not pictured) Stella Zeigler (Boardman) Margaret Evans Memorial Award for “Counting Flowers on the Wall”- oil Cathy Chill-Milligan (Liberty) Watercolor Award for “Red Barn in Winter” - watercolor Brenda Myers Cohen (Girard) Artists of Mahoning Commons Award for “Fresh Fruit” - acrylic Shirl Mascarella (Austintown) Mary Ann Mohney Memorial Award for “On a Fair Day” - oil Maria Latorre (Youngstown) Trumbull Art Gallery Award for “Tropical Fruits” - watercolor This show closed on February 9. Co-Chairs were Sue Anzellotti-Ray (Poland) and Brenda Myers Cohen (Girard). TAA members on the Committee for this event in 2008 were Ricki Bisson (Poland), Lynn Cardwell (Boardman), Mary Kay D’Isa (Boardman), Kathryn Infante (Youngstown), Salli Kowalski (Howland), Maria Latorre (Youngstown), Maryann Limmer (Poland), Terri Madden (Girard), Louise Rade (Boardman), Marcie Roepke-Applegate (Boardman), Gail Trunick (Burghill), Lara Vanauker (Canfield), and Clara Wick (Hubbard) Lynn Cardwell (Boardman) is teaching Pottery classes at 1024 Mahoning Ave. in Youngstown at the old Ward Bakery Building across from U-Haul. Several other classes are being held at the Ward Bakery Building—3 different Wire Jewelry Making classes (taught by Patti Green (Columbiana), a PMC Jewelry workshop (taught by Marcie Applegate (Boardman)), Simple Fused Glass Projects (taught by Fred Shepherd (Canfield)), and Beginning Glass Bead Making (taught by Shelly Krok (Warren)).
