Reluctant Shepherd
I won't be in the pageant.
I won't even go. I should be Joseph or a king
  or in the angel 
chorus sing. But I was chosen?
No!I'd have to dress in Dad's ole robe
And hold that crocked stick.
The dusty sheep of batting
Would probably make me sick.
Still......
Christmas needs a sheppard
Mom says, a kid like me
With cowlick and freckles
And bandage on his knee.
She said the Bible shepherds
Were sharp-eyed
But not real clean,
Though fast , to run to Bethlehem;           
They got there first, I mean.
So.........
I guess I'll play a shepherd        
For the third year in a row.
I like that Baby's story,
And the cast gets lunch
