We would like you to know a little bit about our group. we are a non profit organization established on February 3, 1974. We Began with a membership list from the Salem Area. Now our mailing list for special events and workshops includes the tri-county area: Stark, Mahoning and Columbiana counties. Our members are a diversified group of teachers, college instructors, hobbyists, professionals and learning students with many talents and ideas.

Through the years we have sponsored the following art shows: Art in the Park, The Tri-County Art Show at the Johnny Apple Seed Festival, and various indoor shows. We exhibit paintings at every performance at the Salem Community theater, every month at the Salem Public Library, Bank One Salem, Consumers Bank in Lisbon, and Consumers National Bank Salem. Some members have taught adult and children's classes in the area, while others donate their time judging art shows, selecting tapes for our membership's tape library or seeking art demonstrators for our meetings.

One of the purposes for existing is to promote art in the area and with this thought in mind we have established a collection of the area artist's work. The Salem Area Arts Guild collection hangs in the Salem Chamber of Commerce Building on the corner of Lincoln and E. State Street.

A special thanks goes to The Salem Foundation which has made it possible for us to help present the Charles Burchfield Scholarship Award, do ate award monies to the Ohio Watercolor Society, give awards at our shows, and purchase equipment for our group.

Our meetings are held the third Thursday  of every month at 7:00 P.M. at the Salem Community Center.
