Hello my name is Rhys and I am a
responsible young man.My Daddy and I have moved to a new house in
Patumtani Provence outside of Bangkok. It is really out in th
country.I have graduated from Primary
School and now go to Mattayom Wathattasarn School. It is a big school
and I
have to go to many classes in different Buildings. The School
Director
has assigned me a "big brother" who helpsme. I like him,he is very good to me. I also have classmates who walk me to each
class. The crowds frighten me but I have to be brave because I want
to learn. My Teachers are very good to me and I have lunch every day
with the School Nurse. I will start going to School Draw soon. I like
that school and still want to be a cartoon writer
when I am big. I am now taller than my Daddy and am very big for my
age. But Daddy says I am still his little boy.
When we have adventures I am Daddy's map reader. Daddy and I have
many adventures together. When ever we get lost He says we are
having an adventure.
I have many chores to do around the house and always try to do a
good job.
I like to write and tell stories. I tell them into a tape recorder
and my Daddy types them for me. I can type a little but am very
slow. I have one story done and
am working on three more. I like to draw and paint but get tired so
it takes me a long time.
I have e-mail if you like to write me.

My son, Rhys is autistic. I live
my life around his needs. There are many autistic
children in Thailand. Little is known of autism in the world.
Autism is a learning disability disorder. In the past many of these
unfortunate children were locked away as an embarrassment to their
families. I am lucky as my child is only mildly affected.
God in his goodness often gives these affected children compensating
talents. Rhys is a promising young artist and music lover. Watching
my son sometimes I often wish everyone was autistic like him.
Perhaps the world would be a kinder place.
Rhys is a gentle loving child. He loves to help other children in a
very kind
way. Rhys has many talents but I don’t push him. I want things to be
fun for him, not work.
Rhys was a semi finalist in the
http://www.art.dept.au International art competition and the
Thai representative to the Children’s International art contest last
year. He also has appeared in three of my exhibitions. Rhys also is
a member of the Thai Artist League and shows work in their exhibits.
Rhys has appeared on TV with Daddy three times.
I count myself as a lucky man as my son and I both share the same
love for the arts. |
