Under the tutelage of her Howland High School art teacher, Mr. George Breckner, Jr., she broadened her visual arts perspective. He taught and encouraged her to learn as much as she could in her chosen field and never cease to "work, work, work"

In 1969 Denese attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. During the mid 70's she attended art classes at Kent State University. During the late 70's she took art classes at Y.S. U. She graduated magna cum laude in May 2000 from Hiram College with a Bachelors degree in Humanities and Fine Arts. Her Honors include a membership in the Alpha Society, one of Hiram's highest scholastic honors, and the Deans list.

After college she studied watercolor and batik in Trinidad and Tobago. Denese has traveled to many museums and exhibits to further her personal art studies. She says, " I've always loved spending time in a museum. I feel so comfortable in that environment."

Current Information

Denese is currently living with her husband, on their 25 acre farm in Kinsman, Ohio, They share the land with their horses, goats, chickens, dogs, cats and the local wildlife. There, she is establishing her arts studio and working on private art studies. She is also known to shoot an occasional wedding and some portraiture.

At present, she is compiling illustrations for a children's book she has written called "Hello Sun, Goodbye Moon."
