Apart from a few watercolor painting workshops, I am primarily a self taught painter. I receive my "instruction" from museum and exhibition visits. There I  study and analyze great works of art and try to apply my findings to my own work. In my paintings I attempt to transform the experience of the outer world into color, rhythm and form. This combination of my eyes' perception with my inner experience determines the way I represent the image. I mainly work in watercolor, but also pastel and oil. 

Bio

Born in Germany
Education: Degrees in History (MA in History) and German Literature
Immigration to the USA in 1966
Enrolled in some art courses in the early 70's at Westminster College. New Wilmington, Pa
From 1974 to 1989 I fulfilled family responsibilities and worked as a translator.
