Welcome
to my website.
Thank you for coming into my website for a visit. Enjoy your journey and feel
free to send me your comments. I will reply to you as soon as possible. Before I
tell you about myself, I wish to say thank you to Bev Boyle from the 100 Mile
House Advisors newspaper for my photo. I also wish to say thank you to Sandra
Woods for designing my website at the Art Gally.
My name is Lorraine G. Lessard and I was born in Montreal, Quebec. I now reside
at Six Mile Lake near the village of Clinton. My first language is French and I
spent most of my earlier life on the East Coast of Canada. I am also a Mohawk
and proud of my heritage.
I came to visit friends in Edmonton, Alberta in 1975 and never went back home.
I moved to British Columbia in 1976 and fell in love with this beautiful
province. Anyone who has ever seen and visited British Columbia knows what I
mean by the beauty of this province. Driving from the Pacific Ocean going east
into the interior is the grandeur of the majestic mountains as well as an
amazing variety of wildlife. We are also surrounded by the beauty of gorgeous
lakes and rivers from the south to the north. Every part of BC has a beauty and
uniqueness. Being that I am a nature lover, it is like living in paradise. I
truly enjoy camping and fishing when I have a chance and I do love animals as
well.
I started composing poetry seven years ago. I published my first poetry book
called My Legacy of Poetry in 2003. If anyone is interested in buying my poetry
books, you may contact me directly and I will send you my book. It is $9.00 US
per book including postage.
I was awarded with a merit poetry medal and an Outstanding Achievement in poetry
trophy in July of 2006 after attending an International Poetry Contest in the
United States.
I also had great reviews from the Free Press and the 100 Mile House Advisor
newspapers following our Art Show in Clinton, BC.
I composed a poem and song titled: The Child Hiding Behind the Smile. I sang my
song at our art show on October 6th/2006, and it was very well appreciated and
received from the public. I composed this song for children whom are victims of
war and genocide and it makes people realize how lucky we are to live in Canada.
I am very sensitive to other peoples suffering and I often compose from the
heart. I always feel that if I can touch one heart and bring some relief, it is
the most rewarding gift that I can ever receive in return. Many times, I
composed for people from my heart and soul, on special request as well.
I am very thankful to my friend Sue Jensen for her continual encouragement and
friendship. Sue got me started in doing art work four years ago. I started to do
graphic art work four years ago.
Now, I have a great love in creating fractal art. I love it, because it is
unique and very challenging at times. Many people do not think of fractal art
being real art work. Fractal art is really art and it requires a great sense of
calculation, a creative mind, and true perseverance. If you want to know more
about fractal art, go visit
http://www.fractalus.com/info/manifesto.htm
and it will explain to you how fractal art is done.
