Elizabeth was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. She attended
H. B. Plant High School and continued her education at the University of South Florida to obtain a B.A. in Fine Arts. Throughout her childhood her main passion was drawing which then expanded to other art mediums such as watercolors and ceramics. In high school her principle medium was
Prisma color. During college, Elizabeth began to develop as an artist studying computer animation, which was her main passion, as well as studying printmaking, acrylic painting, watercolors, drawing, and ceramics. In college , Elizabeth wrote and illustrated a children's CD-Rom story book that she knows will be published soon. It was not until after graduating from USF that Elizabeth began her hand at papier mache. Since loving her first papier mache creation, currently 30% of her work consists of papier mache wall hangings and masks. Her main inspirations come from everyday life, childhood memories, imagination, and her mother. Many of her works consists of vivid colors, patterning, and intricate detail. Her subjects can range from decoratively painted masks and fish to flowers and suns.
Currently exhibited at Artsiphartist Gallery in Tampa, Florida.
Elizabeth was invited to exhibit at the Winter Goodwill Games exhibition at the 1932 & 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympic Museum in New York. The exhibition will be from January 12 to March 19, 2000.
"I use vivid, bright colors in my pieces because to me they are pleasing to the eye and to the soul. My subjects are not serious subjects and are not supposed to be. I create pieces that I believe everyone will enjoy looking at and possibly find humorous." --- Elizabeth Arlene
