He invites his audience “walk right into my
paintings. His realistic work of Florida scenes, beacons the viewer
to feel what he feels, the sand beneath their feet and the wind in
their hair. The love of nature and its’ lasting impressions are
related through his work. "I enjoy the satisfaction I feel when I
watch the reactions on the people’s faces when they view my work,
because it lets me know if I am on the right track."
Born in Berlin Germany, Klaus has
always loved to sketch and draw. Since retiring, he had the needed
time to take up painting. Schools in Germany and the United States
have added to his skills and confidence. He is an active member of
many art associations including, Tampa Realistic Artists, North
Tampa Arts League, the Carrollwood Cultural Center, Inc. of Tampa,
and the Progress Energy Art Gallery in New Port Richey Florida.
Klaus enjoys the quality of work of the artists he associates with.
"They are special people, who share the same interest and are fun to
be with."
Working in oils, Klaus enjoys land
and seascapes. His plein air work is among his favorites, because of
the challenge to capture the moment on canvas as he paints outside
in the elements. New work will be coming to his website all the
time. He is planning a series of paintings of the beautiful scenery
inspired by his trip to Germany and Austria.
Right now he is getting ready to add on to the 9’ x
40’ Mural inside Abby’s Café Eden in North Tampa. 14374 N. Dale
Mabry Blvd. Come on by and see Eden as Klaus painted it for you.
Klaus and his wife Gerda have 3
children and 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild. When he isn't
painting, our artist stays busy with his other passion of tennis and
working out at the YMCA or in the garden or Tai Chi.
Klaus’s work is in the Art Warehouse in Clearwater Florida, as
well as in the Art Source & Design gallery in North Carolina.
