Kathy Durdin will present her new series, Childhood: Motion, Emotion and
Discovery in conjunction with the Stageworks presentation of Brighton Beach
Memoirs. The paintings, along with others showing children and the beach,
will hang at the Shimberg Playhouse from May 15 through June 1, 2008.
Examples of from the series are attached.

In creating this series, Kathy has endeavored to capture the joy and
exuberance of childhood. She has used color and
brushwork to show the constant motion of children. The colors in these paintings are bright and clear. They reflect the bright, happy and upbeat emotions shown in these paintings.

I have always loved watercolor as a medium -- while it is very unforgiving, its freshness cannot be replicated. My style is loose, to take advantage of the characteristics of the medium. I believe that watercolor and my style is particularly suited to the subject of children and motion, says Kathy.

Kathy Durdin is an award winner watercolor artist. She has exhibited at the Florida Watercolor Society and is a signature member of Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society. She is also president of Tampa Realistic Artists, and her work can be seen at Artist Emporium. Kathy¹s work can be seen on her website, http://www.kdurdin.com.
