Hi, My Name is George Dell, I was born in 1915 in
Hollidaysburg, Pa. These hard times speak for themselves, but I was a natural and I found solitude with this hard lifestyle!! In my travels, which was until 1942 ( 10 yrs) I fell in love with Steam Engines and the history they meant for the foundation of our great country!! In 1942 I was drafted to WWII, I served three years and was wounded twice in action , my unit was the 90th Division artillery observer. I started to draw when I was 7 years old & didn't think much of it until I drew my 1st steam engine in the 1950's!! This is when I had many people make me aware of my God given talent! All of my drawings (39) total have histories of my travels & have a story behind them. Some were nice stories, some not so nice. There are too many to tell, but if you ask me I'll remember them all. The important thing to not in all my drawings , which average 40-60 hours to create is that everything is exact, from wheel alignment to tender size to every bolt & nut in its original form from that era I am now 88 years young and I am still working hard at night creating new drawings. I hope you enjoy my artwork & if you have any questions please feel free to call me at (724) 730-4466 Thanx George (hobo George) |
