Graced Paintings by S. L. Holt
I am a completely self-taught artist. These paintings are a celebration of the gift of art that I believe God has given to me. The paintings have a sincere, quiet, meditative mood with inspirational sayings and favorite scriptures that will hopefully encourage the viewer. The colored pencil drawings are produced in a realistic style by using an initial layer of oil pastels followed by several layers of colored pencils. In the same style, the acrylic paintings on canvas are completed using a palette of deep, rich tones that lend a sense of peace to the paintings that are filled with favorite painted details of braids, ribbons, and flowers. All of the recent works have been produced primarily with colored pencils and acrylic paints.
