Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society is a not for profit organization whose members reside on the west coast of Florida in the counties of Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota,Charlotte and Lee.

FSWS was formed in 1983 to foster the advancement of and promote excellence in the art of watercolor painting. Our intent is to inform and educate through exhibitions, lectures and painting demonstrations as to the best currently being done in watercolor.

FSWS usually has at least three juried exhibitions a year at various galleries in the area. These exhibitions can be either transparent watercolor or aqueous watercolor. Transparent Watercolor is defined as a painting executed with a water resoluble transparent medium, on paper, not Yupo, unvarnished under Plexiglas. Aqueous Watercolor is defined as a painting executed with any water soluble medium, on paper or Yupo, including acrylic, ink, egg tempera or watercolor collage, under Plexiglas.

Signature membership is awarded to members accepted into two juried exhibitions. Membership is open to residents of the above named counties by completing the application on the reverse side and paying annual dues of $35. For an additional $15 annual fee, members may have a page on the website which will include a bio and up to 3 images, plus a link to their personal website or email address.New members joining on or after July 1 will be considered paid through the following year.
