Artist Bio
Painting the landscape in transparent watercolor is one of the greatest joys of my life. My interest in this genre was sparked by the small landscapes of Gustave Courbet and others of the French schools who did such intimate scenes. The English watercolorist of the 19th. C. inspired me greatly and then the amazing emergence of the American watercolorist John Singer Sargent and Winslow Homer further fed my desire to enter the world of watercolor painting. About 20 years ago I left all other media behind and have delved only into this medium and still pursue it with passion. After moving to Florida a whole new world of light and color greeted my eyes and a new sense of lights and darks was developed. I hope you enjoy the paintings that follow and and please send your comments and questions to me.
Thank you,
Douglas H Teller
