Artist Bio
June completed her BA in Art from Bridgewater College with highest
honors in 1987 and was awarded the Gloria Tibbits Art Award. First
studying pottery and art at Antioch College in Ohio, she had gone back
to Bridgewater while raising three children to learn more watercolor
techniques and advanced glazing. She had taught wheelthrown stoneware
pottery at her studio and Adult Ed night school for 30 years. Now she
receives many awards for her paintings and they are part of private
collections.
June and her husband winter in FL and she has been a member of the
FSWS for 20 years working on the board and as president from 2004 –
2006. She is also a member of the RIWS and has shown her work with
other artist members in 3 person shows. In 2008 she had a one person
show in Norfolk, MA. She has exhibited in National shows and recently
(Oct. 2009) received a memorial award from the RIWS National Show.
From traveling with her husband and spending summers in New England,
her paintings reflect different areas. She feels that the watercolor
media brings a fresh spontaneous effect that allows color to blend in
a beautiful light quality.
