Elaine Charney

Elaine is an attorney who enjoyed a career as an Administrative Law Judge in Michigan before turning to art in 2004. She teaches Beginning and Intermediate-Advanced Watercolor for
the Adult Community Enrichment Center at the Sarasota County Technical Institute.

Elaine won Third Place in the 2008 Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society Transparency Show; one of her paintings was accepted in the Salon des Refuses at the 2008 Florida Watercolor Society (FWS) Show, and another was selected for the first FWS Digital Show in 2009. Subsequently, she has won 3 Honorable Mention awards and her art can be seen at The Bolivar Gallery, Burns Court, Sarasota & Creations Gallery, Punta Gorda. Elaine also works with Art & Frame of Sarasota to organize art workshops with nationally renowned artists and hosts local art exhibitions.

She is a member of the Florida Watercolor Society, the Art Center of Sarasota, Art Center Manatee, and is a Signature member of the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society.
