THE ARTISTS
DETAILS
Born in Northern Ireland, influenced by encouraging parents who
appreciated the natural beauty of country living. The Northern part
of Ireland has a total area of outstanding beauty with a population
of 1.6million. Its area totals 5,345sq miles. In one day you could
drive from one side to the other enjoying the landscape with its 40
shades of green. This is why Ireland is called the Emerald Isle, the
reason, it gets its fair share of rain.
In my paintings I use strong colour contrast which is a natural
practice for me. This is because I live in a land of colourful
contrast which I love with a passion.
I exhibit with many established Art Societies and Galleries in
Northern Ireland and further a field. Dublin, Kinsale, London,
France, New Jersey, New York, Seattle, Washington, Scottsdale
Arizona and Tasmania. I was privileged to established, Belfast City
Councils one and only Art Gallery at Malone House 1985 until 1995.
Although busy I maintain my links with the established Art Society’s
and contacts abroad. I had the privilege to represent the Ulster
Society of Women Artists in Millennium Images, Ireland & America at
Washington State Convention Centre, Exhibiting at the International
Trade Centre- Seattle. I also attended the International Residency -
Centrum Foundation, Port Townsend, Washington 2000. At various times
I have been commissioned to design work for home interiors and had
work selected for inclusion in private and public art collections. Recent work has been gaining demand
at home and abroad and at present I continue to work on commissions
for Art Collections and Galleries at home and in the USA.
