I believe in Christmas & Santa.
It is the best time of the year. I would like to take this time to tell you a
little about our Christmas. We start celebrating and preparing for Christmas in
late October.
My hubby gets so excited this time of year,
(just like a small boy). He starts bustling
about doing all kinds of neat little things.
Every little nock and cranny is filled with
Christmas. We put up anywhere between 11
and 40 trees in our home. My son-in-law
said it perfectly "Wow this place looks like a
gift shop". That is what it reminds me of.
There are so many lights we don't need to turn
on the lamps. That is on the inside. Now the
outside looks like Las Vegas, LOL.
I have several Christmas parties to welcome in the season. One for my family,
one for friends and neighbors and one for the Technical College that my husband
works for. These parties are great. Everyone brings a finger food, I supply the
main dish and we eat til we are stuffed.
We have our grandsons come and help decorate
Pappy's tree. It is a seven and 1/2 ft blue pine,
of some sort. I put up my all brass & glass tree
It is about 7 1/2 ft. and is just glorious It revolves.
I also have a 10 ft tree that I put up in the Family
Room with the Fireplace. I guess you can tell I
like trees?
The kids have a ball doing this,
It has become tradition. They are 11 and 8.
Once the tree is decorated, the children and I
sit and read Christmas stories by the fireplace
with lots of hot cocoa and soft Christmas
music in the background. The next weekend
the kids will come back and we will put up the
train under the tree. Another Tradition. We
are making them yearly. We also take our
grandsons to the local playhouse theater to see
the Christmas special of the year. We also
do a portrait of our grandsons in front of the
fireplace or the trees or somewhere Christmasy In
our home. I can't wait.
This is all followed, of course, by a huge
family
Christmas Dinner.
This is my time of year. I
believe if the whole year was like Christmas there would be no more wars or
trouble. This year I would like to ask all of you to please pray for our
soldiers in Iraq and around the world. I believe prayers help. God Bless you all
and Have a very Merry Holiday Season.
