Bio:
I was born in Canada and came to the States when I was fifteen, with my
family. We lived in Oregon for many years and I was married there. My
husband and I have four children, three boys and a girl, all of whom are
married, except our youngest son, who is disabled and has always lived with
us. I have many interests, including ham radio. We traveled throughout the
northwest during the years my husband worked, but moved to northern Idaho 20 years ago and plan on staying. We have a home in the country near a national
forest and nature is a big part of our life and a source of great pleasure.
Artist's Statement:
I have always written poetry, since I was about ten years old.
Unfortunately for many years I threw it away almost as fast as I wrote it.
Though I do have a few pieces from those early years. When I was in my
twenties I realized that what I was writing, could have appeal for others
and started compiling it. Gradually I reached a point where I wanted to
write every day and I still try to do so.
Even if it's only a partial poem, or just some ideas for one, I save
everything. Ideas come to me from everywhere. I often write at night, when
the house is quiet and I can write undisturbed.
We can say things poetically that are sometimes difficult to put into
prose, I think. Reading poetry of others is a source of great pleasure for
me and I am always learning from what I read. There are many fine poets
writing today and I am proud to be part of that group and always working
towards broadening and improving my poems. I have been published in about 45 small press magazines and have been publishing on the Internet for the past
couple of years at various sites. Some of the publishers who use my work
regularly are: Rhyme Time, Drury's Publishing, Grandmother Earth News,
Ya'Sou Magazine, Poet's Fantasy, Christian Poet's Pen, Christian Outlook,
New Hope Books, Bristol Banner Books, and Tucumcari Review.
