I graduated with my BA in Studio Art and Photography in 1996. I started
painting with oils my last year in college. I struggled for a good while in search of creative inspiration, wanting...no, needing.. to paint from
the heart. So, it was within myself that I looked and found the Spiritual balance to paint. I wanted to be able to give others a
Spiritual message, hoping that what I created would speak to each person individually. Hoping that at least some of the hidden meanings of my
work would spark recognition and hope and peace. I find myself sitting in front of my paintings and pray that the essence of their meanings
will be realized and that the viewer will walk away feeling more spiritually complete. I am still not quite sure what genre my paintings
would fall into. I think that if I had to label my work it would be a combination of genres. Maybe it would be best to say that my work seems
to be a child of Expressionism with bright, unrealistic colors with a hint Abstraction and of Emotionalism (if that is a genre)...with a touch
of Georgia O'Keefe, and a good helping of the Spiritual/New Age influence.
