Alice Tomko
Warren, Ohio
The
starting point of my work lies in the unconscious, which creates for me infinite
possibilities of subjects and of imagination. It becomes a passionate journey
through the path of the soul. It is a passion that, as an artist, I seek to
share with the viewer.
With my art, I hope to transport the viewer on a journey to
previously unknown places and subjects that I hope will stimulate the creative
emotions within. I also hope to challenge the viewer to stop, to let go, and to
enjoy the journey through life in a more relaxed moment that I feel is often
lacking, and is especially critical in contemporary society.
It is my belief that art becomes a meditation form that released
a healing of our bodies as well as our souls, not only for the artist, but for
the viewer as well. A work of art is highly subjective experience, and remains
very much an affair of the heart to be shared with others.
Artist Bio Warren, Ohio artist, Alice Tomko received an Associates Degree with an
emphasis in Art from Kent State University and a B.F.A. from Youngstown
State University.
She works primarily in oils, and believes that a work of art is a
highly subjective experience that lies in the unconscious. As she begins
painting, it becomes a journey on canvas-- a journey through the path of
the soul.
She has exhibited throughout the Northeast, and has been the
recipient of numerous juried awards, and has been included in many solo
and group exhibits. Her work can be found in many private and corporate
collections throughout Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and Arizona,
