Audrey Hughes Bell

Audrey Hughes Bell grew up in Hubbard, Ohio, a graduate from Hubbard High School and continuing her education at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh from which she graduated with an Associates Degree in Visual Communications. Her studies incorporated a variety of mediums including air brush, watercolor, oil, graphics design, advertisement, and photography.
 

Her subject matter ranges from portraits of people, animals, and landscapes; with a specialized talent in Equine art, drawing, painting, and photographing. She also enjoys pencil drawing and has done limited edition greeting cards for Hughes Arabians for the past 18 years. Her limited edition prints have been donated to many fund raisers for various causes. 
 

Audrey grew up with Arabians. Her family has been raising them for more than fifty years and although she is fond of all animals, Audrey loves the beauty and grace of the Arabian horse which makes them exciting to photograph and fun to draw.
 

Audrey’s work is found in magazines and newspapers and on greeting cards and prints. She has some unique originals such as horse sculptures and World War II scenes on leather jackets for war enthusiasts. Clients around the world collect these treasured pieces of art in a variety of mediums including air brush, watercolor, oil, pencil, pastel, and sculpting.
 

She has traveled several years around the states, including Alaska. Her drawings and paintings of Arabian horses are known and collected by many Arabian horse lovers and owners across the US, Canada, and Europe. 

 

 

 

 

Her work has been featured in the following publications and art shows:

·        Airbrush illustration selected for Allegheny Mall Art Show in 1986

 

 

·        The Arabian Vision 1992 - Drawings of the Arabian Horses

 

 

·        The January 1993 Country (Extra) Magazine issue featured a photo of a little girl and horse

 

 

·        A showing was sponsored by The Valley Arts Guild of Sharon in December 1994 with an article in the Sharon Herald

 

 

·        Showing at the Sharon Chamber of Commerce

 

 

·        Featured artist in Feb/March 1995 issue of The Top Spot magazine out of Canada

 

 

·        Received an editors choice award from The International Library of Photography in 1999 for her photo of a Day with Maggie and Mandy

 

 

·        Photos of Hughes Arabian horses used in the Canadian Arabian News – Stallion Issue 2002

 

 

·        Photos of Hughes Arabian horses used in Arabian Horse Times & The Arabian Horse World Magazines, from 2002-to present

 

·        Photos of Hughes Arabian horses used in Horse and Rider Magazine, July Issue
